Wanganui And Taranaki Badminton Match For Handley Cup

NEW PLYMOUTH, Last Night (OC) A new fixture in Wanganui and Taranaki Badminton Associations representative programmes is an inter-as-sociation match for the Handley Rose Bowl, which will be contested at Wanganui next week-end when the top teams from the two provinces will meet. Mrs. J. Street will be Taranaki's number 1 woman player, and the match will be interesting in that it will provide an opportunity to assess the relative merits of Miss T. Greaves (Wanganui) and Mrs. Street, ranked respectively third and fifth in the selections for the New Zealand team to tour Australia. The Taranaki team is:— Men: H. M. Purser, V. Sattler, N. F. Hutton, H. Williams, R. Bennett, R. Sorenson. Women: Mrs. J. Street, Misses P. Gow, B. Webster, R. Ross, W. Rawles, E. Whitehead. The Wanganui team is:— Men: A. J. Anderson G. Bristol, L. D. Low, G. M. Russell, L. H. Wilson and E. Handly. Emergency is H. Millward. Women: Miss T. Greaves, Miss D. Bother. Mrs. S. Scoullar, Miss B. Craig, Miss C. Owen and Miss S. Robson. Emergency is Mrs. M. Ryland.
