WANGANUI T.O.B. AND OHAKEA IN CHATHAM CUP SEMI-FINAL

Wanganui Technical Old Boys will make a further bid for the Chatham Cup on Saturday, on Cook’s Gardens, when they will play the Manawatu finalists, Ohakea. The teams will be evenly matched and keen and interesting game is in prospect. Included in the Technical Old Boys team is J. Kidd (N.Z. representative). He should be dangerous In the inside left position. J. Scott, N. Breed and R. Hessell have all represented Wanganui in recent years. The Ohakea team has not been announced, but prominent among them will be Methvin centre forward. Several settlers are also in the team. T. 0.8. last played Ohakea for the Cup series in 1948, in atrocious weather like last Saturday, Ohakea winning by 5 goals to 2. The T. 0.8. team for Saturday's match is:— Goal: Gould. Backs: Patterson and Williams; halves, Allpress, Hessell, and Breed. Forwards: Smith, Crabbe, Scott, Kidd and Chamley. Reserves: Seddon, Bows, Hanna, Rogers. DRAW FOR SATURDAY. Junior: Tech. B v Eastbrooke, No 1, Victoria Park, 2.30 p.tn., Tech. C v Colts, Victoria Park, No. 2, 1 p.m. The 3rd., 4th. and sth. grade games are the same as last Saturday.
