R.S.A. Bowling Club; Annual Meeting

More than 40 members attended the annual meeting of the Wanganui Returned Servicemen’s Bowling Club, held on Tuesday night. The president, Mr. W. Bourne, presided. The president, in welcoming members, thanked all those who had assisted in the upkeep of the green, buildings and grounds, and expressed special thanks to Mr. Harry Brittain for his excellent work over the past three years. The election of officers resulted:— Patron, Mr. E. W. Merewether; president, Mr W. Bourne; vice-president, Mr. A. G. Toop; hon. secretary, Mr. C. Aitken; hon. treasurer, Mr. A. V. Finlay; committee, Messrs. F. A. Beattie, J. E. Brittain, G. Tovell-Soundy, J. S. Howes, H. May, L. A. Kinzett, G. A. Spooner M. F. Beauchamp, and H. H. C. Holland; match committee, Messrs. J. S .Howes, J. E. Brittain, A. G. Toop, G. A. Spooner, and W. Bourne; delegates to Wanganui Centre, Messrs W. Bourne and C. Aitken; hon. auditor, Mr. J. A. Gilmour; Sunday committee, Messrs. L. A Kinzett (chairman), G A. Spooner, J. S. Howes, R. J. Bourne and W. C. Curtis. The following motion was carried: “That it be a recommendation, from this club tc the Wanganui Centre that the Easter Tournament be commenced on Easter Saturday instead of Good Friday.’’ Other domestic matters affecting’ the internal working of the club were discussed.
