Resources Of N.Z. At Disposal Of Designers Of Empire Defence

WELLINGTON, Last Night —Asked whether the previous Government’s statement that New Zealand warships would, if necessary, be sent to Hongkong would be supported by the new administration, the Prime Minister (Mr. Holland) said that the National Government's whole defence policy was one of co-operation with other Empire countries. New Zealand would always be prepared to play its part. Mr. Doidge would go to the Ceylon conference armed with the new Government’s determination to play its maximum part in Empire defence. “The resources of this country are at the disposal of designers of Empire defence,” said Mr. Holland.
