Mrs. Ross’ Official Designation

WELLINGTON, Yesterday (P.A.)— Mrs. Ross, National member for Hamilton, and Minister without portfolio in the new Cabinet, would be officially known as Minister for the Welfare of Women and Children, said the Prime Minister elect, Mr. Holland, at a Press conference today. Mr. Holland added that he hoped to be in a position soon to announce in detail the work delegated to Mrs. Ross. Meanwhile, an examination would be made of the various statutes dealing with women and children, to see what other personal responsibilities could be allocated to her. The Child Welfare Department was an obvious choice.
