CASTLECLIFF GOLF CLUB’S EASTER TOURNEY CONCLUDES

The 15th annual Easter handicap tournament of the Castlecliff Golt Club concluded yesterday in brilliant weather. Close finishes and first-class scoring were assisted by the excellent condition of fairways and greens. At the conclusion of play, Mr.' P. J. Smith, president, congratulated the winners and complimented competitors on the general standard of sportsmanship. Mr. Smith also welcomed the visiting players from other centres and thanked the tournament secretary, Mr. Ivan Brown, the caretaker, Mr, J. Wilson, and the caterer, Mr. J, Brotherston, for their contribution towards the successful gathering. Mrs. L. T. Thomas was presented with an appreciation of her services as treasurer.

Further stroke play results are:— No. 3 Medal (first division): L. Keltic 80-3 —72; second division: F. McCarthy nett 72, won on the count back from M. Reid and R. Humphrey. Semi-final and final match play results were:—
