Eclipse Of Moon Televised

NEW YORK, April 12 (Reed 8.20 pm).—For the first time in the history of American television the moon’s eclipse was broadcast tonight. Between wrestling and boxing bouts the silvery white moon slid slowly across the city’s television screens, witli the slow passing of the Earth’s shadow across it clearly visible. The eclipse took place over a period of shr. 19min. The moon was in total darkness for Ihr. 26min. so only fleeting glimpses of the phenomenon were broadcast hourly. The moon appeared on the television screen as a bright disc about the size of a cricket ball on a black background.
