Annual Meeting Of The St. John’s Hill Sub-Branch

The annual meeting of the St. John’s Hill sub-branch of the Plunket Society was held on Thursday in the Brassey Road Hall. At the opening the president, Mrs. Allan Tasker, welcomed those present, after which the secretary, Mrs. P. E, Shortt, read the minutes of the last annual meeting, and the balance-sheet was then presented. This showed a very encouraging result for the work put in by the committee during the past year. The president read her annual report, thanking her committee for the wprk they had done. Thanks were also extended to Mr. Haworth for the auditing of the books, and to the Presbyterian Church for the use of their hall. A total of seventeen new members were enrolled in the branch during the past year. The election of officers was then proceeded with, results being: Mrs. A. McP. Tasker (president), Mesdames W. Battell and W. p. Martin (vice-presidents), Mrs. P. J. Shortt (secretary and treasurer), committee, Mesdames Linwood, Caseford, Haworth, Sampson, Simpson, Porritt, Thompson, Thomas, Dickson, Everett, Sherriff, Bassett, Frame, Hobday and Meuli. At the conclusion, Mrs. Linwood, on behalf of the committee, thanked Mrs. Tasker for the able way in which .she has carried out her vyork as president for the past four years. Afternoon tea was then served.
