Manawatu-Wanganui District Golf Assn.
The Manawatu-Wanganui District Golf Association, to cover the Manawatu, Wanganui, Waverley, Taihape, Rangitikei and Levin areas, was formed at a recent meeting in Palmerston North. Objects of the association are to affiliate with the New Zealand Golf Association, control inter-provincial and inter-district matches, and to foster golf within its area. It was felt by all present at the meeting that much good would be obtained for all clubs [in the area by the formation of the 1 association as a subsidiary of the New Zealand Association, especially in view of proposed alterations to the constitution of the latter body. The following officers were elected by the delegates to hold office until the first annual meeting of the assoI elation to be held early in the new year:—President, Mr. K. S. Glendinning (Manawatu); vice-presidents, Messrs B. M. Silk (Wanganui) and F. J. Christensen (Marton); secretary and treasurer, Mr. K. G. Chamberlain (Manawatu).
Six delegates from the Palmerston North, Feilding, Rangitikei, Levin, Taihape and Castleclifi' Golf Clubs are to act as a management committee.
