Mr. N. M. Izard Commended For Stand At Council Table

“Our president, Mr. N. M. Izard, deserves to be warmly commended on his strong attitude at the discussion at the last Wanganui City Council meeting regarding the demolition of the house on the corner of Somme Parade’ and Pitt Street," said Mr. S. J. Sullivan at last night's meeting of th® executive of the Wanganui Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Sullivan said the house had been a disgrace for a long period and had been the subject of discussion at the chamber’s meetings. Mr. Sullivan said it would have been better if the house had been burnt down instead of pulled down as there was a risk of infection to workmen. “It would have made a good November 5 blaze," added Mr. Sullivan.
