Presbyterian flower Show At Bulls
(CkC.i Bulls, Sept. 12. The annual flower show and sale of work of the Bulls Presbyterian Church was held on Monday. It was a great success, the takings being nearly £lOO. The display of spring flowers left little to be desired in the way of quality. and it is evident that the fixture is nearing the status of a major exhibition Rev. C. Cannel Hoskin, in a brief speech, opened the show, paying tribute to the organisers and congratu lating the exhibitors on their efforts. The various stalls, which did good business throughout the day, were as under: —Fancy, Mesdames L. Hill, L. Vile and Miss C. Vile; cakes, Mrs L, Scott and Misses C-are, Scott and Corry; produce, Mesdames Wicks and McMurray; flowers, Mesdames Cornfoot, Smart, McCormack, Stewart and Miss Walker; ice cream, Mrs. Milligan; bran tub, Mesdames Montgomerie and Westwood; afternoon tea, Mesdames J. Tricker (supervisor), H. Meads, Cule, Ross, Pawsey, Guy, Brookie, Craig, Hinkley and Funnell, and Misses Brookie, Amon, Thoms, P. Amon, M. Hoskin and Connel.y; doorkeeper, Mrs. Wood. Competitions resulted as under: —• Fancywork and knitting (steward, Miss L. Jamieson): Child's smocked frock, Mrs. Payne 1, Mrs. P. Kemp 2; knitted article, Miss L. Clare 1, Miss L. Thoms 2, Mrs. C. Hill special prize; crochet in cotton, Mrs. Humphrey 1, Mrs. Ross 2; child's knitted garment. Mrs. Payne 1, Mrs. J. Mclntosh 2; fancywork in coloured cotton, Miss L. Jamieson 1, Mrs. Payne 2.
