Barque Pamir Was Battling In Gale In The Atlantic

(P.A.) Wellington, June 29 The barque Pamir was battling in a north-east gale the South Atlantic on Sunday, according to the latest report received from the vessel by the Union tseamshio Company. “North-east gale; furled first sail today since southerly gale in the Channel on May 4,” the message stated. “We are approaching Tristan da Cunha and another winter.” The position given places her approximately 1830 miles due west of Capetown, and 660 miles north-west of Tristan da Cunha.
