Heritage in Wanganui i Will Need *£Booo Over Next Seven Years
I At the executive meeting of Heri- ‘ tage, Wanganui (Inc.) held this week ‘'the president (Mr. F. W. Gilligan) reiported that £823 had so far been ex- ! pended in assisting children of deceased servicemen. ’ In a multitude of ways these funds |had been used to improve the health, I well being, education, cultural deJ velopment and general progress toil wards a fuller life according to the individual needs in each case. The (hairman (Mr. F. H. Bcthjwaite) reported that a preliminary ; survey of the financial responsibilities iof the Wanganui branch indicated that i i-ome £BOOO would be required over thp ‘next seven years to fulfil the aims of (Heritage in this district. , The receipt of £25 was gratefully , i acknowledged from an anonymous and generous supporter of the movement who transferred to’ Heritage his universal age benefit for the current I year. A total of 388 ordinary members and 36 life members were reported by the secretary (Mr. J. Small) as being the strength of the local branch which now has 42 families with 30 boys and 136 girls on the roll.
