INDOOR SPORT POPULAR IN WANGANUI At the annual meeting of the Gonville Badminton Club held last week the following officers-were elected for the ensuing season-.—President, Mr. J. T. Owen; vice-presidents, Mrs. E. W. Eroad and Mr. W. Stodart; club captain, Mr. A. Holroyd; hon. treasurer, Miss B. Craig; hon. secretary, Mr. N. D. Cullen; committee, Misses H. Bassett Smith, J. The club’s season will open in the Gonville Town Hall on Saturday next at 7.30 p.m., when all visitors and intending members will be welcome. Although the club’s membership may be somewhat limited early in the season, it is hoped that the freeing of the Drill Hall of wool later in the month will provide ample playing facilities and enable the game to regain the popularity it enjoyed pre-war.
