LARGE IMPORT OF CITRUS FRUIT FROM AUSTRALIA

(P.A.) Auckland, May 4. The Australian citrus fruit industry had committed itself to supply at least 300,000 bushels of fruit to New Zealand this season, said Mr. C. Mueller, New Zealand representative for the industry when he arrived by flying boat from Sydney on Saturday. The committment was double the amount supplied in 1946 and shipments would commence as soon as possible after the season opened In June.
