(P.A.) Christchurch, Oct. 30. The store sheep at Addington to-day totalled 2-180. There was a good selection of hoggets and ewes with lambs. The demand for the best was animated, but values all round weie Is down. The best woolly ewe hoggets made to 395; medium, to 355; best shorn, to 26s 6d; others to 235. Best shorn wethers made to 27s lid; medium, 24s to 26s 2d. A good selection of serviceable ewes came forward, with well grown lambs. The lop pi ice was 22s 2d; medium, 18s to 19s 9d; inferior, 12s 6d to 15s 6d, al: counted. The spring lamb entry was 296, the

highest of the season. For quality values were fully 2s a head up. The best lambs made Is 3d per lb and heavier Is to Is Id. The fat hogget entry was 605 Good quality values we.e 2s to 2s 6a up. Extra prime made to 44s 7d; prime, 42s to 445;, good, 35s to 41s 6d; mediium and light, 25s to c4s. The fat sheep entry was 4500, the smallest, for -Jorne weeks. Quality was again high. Show day and a holiday next week stimulated extra buying, which, with the short em.ry, raised prices fully 2s a head. The fat cattle entry was 540. Il was a fluctuating sale, with the Best beef fully firm. The best beef made to 655; good, 55s to GOs; medium, 40s to 50s; best cow beef, to 47s fid; secondary cow, to 35s (all per 1001 b). Values were: Extra prime heavy steers, to £32 2s 6d; prime, £22 10s to £25 10s; prime medium weight, £l6 to £2O; light, £l2 10s to £l5; extra prime heifers to 21 7s; prime, £l5 to £l9; medium and light, £9 to £l4 10s; extra piime cows to £l9 17s 6d; prime, £ll 10s lo £l5 10s; medium and light, £8 to £lO 10s. Fat Pigs.—A large entry of porkers. There was an excellent sale and values were fully firm. The chopper entry was big and velues were £1 down. The bacon section included pigs from the West Coast and Kaikouia.
