YUGOSLAVS ARREST US. MEMBER OF U.N.R.R.A. MISSION

ESPIONAGE ALLEGED

Recd. 6 p.m. London, Oct. 5. Yugoslavs have arrested, on charges of espionage. Robert Burnup, an American member of the U.N.R.R.A. Mission to Yugoslavia, states the Associated Press correspondent in Belgrade.

The chief ot the mission, Mr. Michael Sergelchic, appealed to Marshal Tito and was informed the Yugoslavs held sufficient evidence to prove that Burnup collected information relating to the disposition ot Yugoslav forces. The authorities later announced that Burnup was being released to the custody of U.N.R.R.A. on condition that he returned to America immediately.
