DULL BATHING SEASON?
(P.A.) Auckland, Oct. 3. A by-law to ensure that no bathing costumes likely to cause offence to the public will be worn on any part of the foreshore at Devonport, an Auckland marine suburb, is to be made by the Devonport Borough Council. No statement was forthcoming this morning as to whether the council w as inspired by Ihe recent controversy in Sydney, in which a 17-year-old girl was embroiled with beach inspectors.
