WANT NOBODY ELSE AS SUPPLY MINISTER
MANUFACTURERS’ PRAISE (P.A.) Wellington, Oct. 2. ”1 am satisfied that if a poll of manufacturers, independent or parti interests, was taken to elect the Minister of Industries and Commerce, Mr. D. G. Sullivan would be elected unanimously,” said Mr. W. J. Truscott, president of the New Zealand Manufacturers' Federation when the Council of the Federation met the Minister to express appreciation ol the assistance he had given to the manufacturers of New Zealand. Mr. Truscott said the Minister had always been most approachable and had shown a real appreciation of the problems which manufacturers had to face. The manufacturers wished to express their gratitude for the Minister's help during his 11 years of office.
Tributes were also paid by Messrs. lan Matheson (Wellington) and J. Sutherland (Dunedin) who, on behalf of manufacturers, expressed their thanks to the Minister and his department for their work in securing supplies, and generally assisting New Zealand manufacturers to maintain a high standard of production and efficiency.
Members of the council also expressed their sincere appreciation ol the very great services rendered to manufacturers by Mr. F. R. Picot in obtaining supplies of vital materials to enable them to carry on.
