VICE-REGAL. (P.A.) Wellington, March 7. His Excellency the Governor-Gen-eral received the Prime Minister, Mr. Fraser, this morning. Tliis afternoon His Excellency received the Chief Jus.ice, Sir Michael Mye) s. A Wellington Press Association message reports the death of Mrs. Earle, wife of Mr. Charles W. Earle, president of the New Zealand Newspaper Proprietors’ Association. The late Mrs. Earle was for many years an active worker in various church, social, political and patriotic movements. She was an early president of the Women's section of the Reform Party in the days of the late Mr. Massey's leadership, and was a leading spirit in the band of women who did so much to entertain New Zealand soldiers during the war of 1914-18. Mrs. Earle, who had been in ill-health for some time, leaves two children, Mrs. Findlay Smith, of Lower Hutt, and Lieutenant-Colonel D. W. Earle, of Wanganui, who returned from Italy a few weeks ago.
