LINER MONTEREY
INTENDED SAILING FROM NEW YORK TO N.Z.
New York, Jan. 8 The list of hundreds of people throughout the United States awaiting transportation to Australia and New Zealand will be considerably reduced by the last-minute decision of the War Shipping Administration io have the Matson liner Monterey sail from San Francisco on January 16 for Auckland. Sydney and Brisbane. It is estimated that about. 800 wifi make the trip, including 300 for New Zealand. At present it is not known whether the Monterey will return to San Francisco bringing passengers, including the wives of American servicemen, or go to Manila and bring ba.k American troops as originally ntciided.
