HOLIDAY RACING & TROTTING CARNIVAL:: “BY KESTREL”

The mid-summer racing and trotting carnival in the Dominion will be opened in earnest to-day, the Boxing Day holiday being marked by racing fixtures at Ellerslie, Palmerston North, New Plymouth. Waipukurau and Dunedin, and trotting meetings at Ashburton. Gore and Westport. The Auckland Trotting Club’s meeting will open to-morrow, when the Manawatu and Taranaki meetings will again hold sway. The carnival will be continued on various days until after New Year's Dav.
