ROYAL NAVY IN JAPAN
MAY BE THERE 25 YEARS Recd. 8.35 p.m. New York, Nov. 12. The Royal Navy, according to the “Herald-Tribune’s” Tokio correspondent, will maintain an occupation force of two cruisers and a flotilla of destroyers in Japanese waters, at a base assigned possibly in northern Hokkaido. There has been some discussion of the possibility of British leetr units remaining in Japanese waters 25 years, which is a significant clue to the length of control envisioned by the Allies.
