NEW TARIFF RATES IN CANADA
ANTICIPATING REDUCTION IN WORLD RATES Recd. 8 p.m. Ottawa, Nov. 12.
The Minister of Finance, Mr. Ilsley, announced in the House of Commons the withdrawal of new tariff rates announced in the Budget and affecting only non-Empire imports of steel and wrought iron tools, ar.d the restoration of pre-Budget rates, because lie had been given substantial grounds in the last few days for believing that the prospects of early international action for the reduction of tariffs and other world trade barriers had considerably improved.
