LEAGUE OF MOTHERS

There was a large attendance of members of the League of Mothers at the monthly meeting held yesterday in Christ Church Parish Hall. Mrs. E. W. E. Carter presided. After the opening hymn and prayer the president expressed sympathy with the relatives of Mrs. Cooper. Alt stood in silence. The secretary, Mrs. J. P. Morrison dealt with the correspondence. The president announced that the new vice-presidents were Mesdames Bellringer, G. Hardy and H. Taylor. Mrs. Uttley, the hon. vicepresident, was presented with a bouquet, and Mrs. R. Taylor, past treasurer, who was unable to attend the annual meeting last month, was also the recipient of a floral token for her three years work. Parcels for their returned sons were handed to Mrs. Hodges and Mrs. Kirk. It was decided to sell Health Stamps at the November meeting so that members could purchase them for Christmas letters and parcels. Mrs. J. C. Wickham gave a talk on ‘•Women’s part in the new world or peace.” Songs were sung by Mrs. (Adjutant) Thomas, and Mis. J. B. Fleming, and pianoforte solos played by Mrs. A. H. Hurley. The accomp-

anists were Mesdames Tizard and Blackman. The iea hostesses were Mesdames Brightwell (convener), Jannings, McGregor, Brookie, A. Spurdie, A. Rowe, Spray and Watson. Mesdames Cundy and Barrow were the door hostesses.
