A.T.C. OFFICERS’ COURSE
TWO DAYS OF INTENSIVE TRAINING An intensive course for senior officers of the Air Training Corps was held during the week-end al. the headquarters of the No. 9 Squadron, Wanganui. Th P course began on Saturday and concluded yesterday, officers from the area between New Plymouth and Palmerston North being in attendance. Preliminary arrangements for the course were made by the commanding officer of the provincial wing, Squadron-Leader Cowan, D.F.C. who was in Wanganui on Friday. The course was conducted by a training officer from Dominion headquarters, Squadron-Leader H. C. Wilton, who is touring the Dominion for this class of work. The wide range of subjects which the A.T.C. deals with in preparing cadets for scores of posts in the Royal New Zealand Air Force was covered during the two days, but. there was no time for sightseeing or other activities. Among the officers who attended the course were: Flying-Officer M. Kinder, Flight l Lieutenant A. J. Kingston, FlyingOfficer A. H. Larkman, Flying-Officer W. Ford (Wanganui Collegiate Wing), Flying-Officer D. A. Carr, Flight-Lieutenant C. N. Mac Lean (Wanganui Collegiate School Wing), Flight-Lieutenant F. W. Gilligan, commandant and Flying-Officers G. Lomas and C. F. Treadwell (Wanganui Squadron). Flying-Officer W. J. Toomey (New Plymouth Boys’ High School Wing). Flying-Officer G. Sullivan (Palmerston North), Pilot-Officer A. K. Fyson (Hawera), Flight-Lieu-tenant P. Veale (New Plymouth), Second-Lieutenant J. S. Mclvor (Inglewood), Major S. R. Dunn (Opunake), Flying-Officer E. W. Pearce (Palmerston North), PilotOfficer F. Goodey (Patea), G. A. Elliott, and G. W. Dixon (Palmerston North).
