ARAMOHO W.I.

The monthly meeting of the Aramoho W.I. was held in the Druids Hall, Aramoho, Mrs. Bergin, vicepresident, conducting the meeting. A letter was read from a soldier overseas thanking the institute for a parcel received. Discussion cook place on “School of Procedure,” and mention was made that only three Aramoho members were on the roll call that day. Reference was made to tne first president, Mrs. Rooke, who is very ill, and a desire for a speedy recovery was expressed. The roll call was “How to treat a burnt saucepan” and che motto “She who plants kindness gathers love. Competition winners were: Garden Circle astors, Mrs. Smith 1; tomatoes, Mrs. Spray 1, Miss Cole 2, Mrs. Cox 3. Mrs. Doidge foas judge. Institute competition: Bran biscuits, Mrs. Bates 1 (2 entries). Mrs. Vollemaere was judge. Mrs. Bergin was the winner of the points prize and the monthly prizes were given to the competitors.

The minutes of the 11th. annual meeting, written by Mrs. F. Armstrong, were read and confirmed, while the secretary, Mrs. Pye, gave a report on the year’s activities. In the absence of Mrs. Wells, Mrs. Gould, the Dominion president of the Federation, thanked the various helpers, the retiring committee, and the Garden Circle for the splendid work they had done, also the W.I. for providing soldiers’ parcels. Reference was made to the Christmas gifts which, in some cases, had not proved satisfactory. Mrs. Flyger, treasurer, was thanked for her report, which showed a balance to be carried forward. Mention was made of the funds for soldiers’ parcels, 40 of which have been sent bv the institute and 15 by the Garden Circle. Mrs. Wells was elected for the ensuing year as president. Mrs. Bergin presented with sprays the retiring committee and members of the Mosstown W.I. who acted as scrutineers.

Mrs. H. West spoke on behalf oi the Singing Circle, which gave several items.

The hostesses dispensed afternoon tea, after which the National Anthem was sung.
