LIVESTOCK MARKETS
FORDELL SALE 1 New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited (incorporated in England) report on the above sale held on Tuesday, February 16, 1943, as follows: We yarded 7000 sheep, which comprised mostly ewes, together with approximately 1000 lambs, all of which came in good order despite the adverse weather conditions. Buyers were present from Waikato, King Country, Taranaki, and surrounding local districts, and we can report an almost total clearance under the hammer. Prices were down from Is to 2s all round.
Quotations are: 2-tooth ewes, good, 21s 7d to 245; 2-tooth ewes, medium, 17s to 20s; 4-tooth ewes, good, 245; 4-tooth ewes, medium, to 21s; 4, 6 and f.f. mouth ewes, to 14s 9d; 4-year ewes, to 19s; 5-year ewes, 12s lOd to 17s 7d; fattening ewes, to 9s; wethers, medium, to 19s; lambs, medium, b.f., to 12s 4d; w.f. lambs, to 14s; ewe lambs, to Ils 9d.
