EWE VALUES AT FEILDING

(P.A.) Feilding, Feb. 19. What vendors call a good sale was reported to-day from the stock saleyards when the ewe fair for ewes older than two-tooth offered a yarding comprised of 16,000, of which the larger proportion were four and five year. Prices for all good-condition ewes were firm and vendors were satisfied. There was a very small yarding of fat sheep, for which prices were on a higher level. A fair yarding of fat cattle sold according to quality, with a demand for anything good. There was a fair inquiry for dairy winter calvers. The few pens of station cattle sold at satisfactory prices. Range of Prices.—Four-tooth ewes, 25s 4d to 26s 3d; 4 and 6-tooth, 21s 3d to 26s Id; 6-tooth to 5-year, 21s 6d to 225. Four-year good lines, 23s to 24s 8d; average pens, 21s 3d to 22s 7d; other lines from 18s to 20s Id. Four and five-year: Good pens to 20s Id, fair to 17s 6d, others from 15s 3d. Fiveyear: Good lines, 19s 2d to 22s 3d, fair 16s 6d to 18s Bd, other pens from Ils 6d. Woolly ewe hoggets made 33s 4d. Fat wethers: Prime, 24s to 24s lOd. Fat lambs: Prime, 23s lOd to 24s 7d. Store cows: 14 4s; dairy springing cows to HO. Run cattle: P.A. bullocks, £8 7s and £9 8s 6d. Steers: Forward condition, £8 18s to £9 8s 6d; other lines from £7 2s; cows, £5 5s to £7 Is; fat bullocks, prime heavy, £l3 2s 6d; light, £lO 2s 6d; prime cows, £8 17s 6d to £9 2s 6d; R.P. cows, £8 2s 6d to £8 17s 6d; ex-dairy cows. £3 12s 6d to £4 17s 6d; heifers, £5 17s 6d; vealers, £3 10s to £4; runners, £6 12s 6d.
