WANGANUI WAR SAVINGS During the past two days Wanganui citizens have responded magnificently to the Press appeal on Thursday for £330 to reach the City’s National Savings quota objective for the 69th successive week. On Thursday investments totalled £520. and yesterday's figures were equally gratifying, the sum of over £4OO being subscribed. In an interview last night the chairman of the Wanganui National Savings Committee, Mr. W. J. Gilberd, expressed the committee’s appreciation of this splendid co-operation and the determination of citizens to keep Wanganui in the forefront of the Dominion districts in maintaining the city’s record for war savings.
