ENEMY ALIENS IN U.S.
GERMAN PRESIDENT OF WAR PLANT ARRESTED
(Recd. 8 p.m.) New York, Feb. 17. E. E. Conroy, a special agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, annonunced the arrest of eleven enemy aliens, including the president of a New York war plant operating almost entirely on contracts for the armed forces. The identity of the man is not. revealed, but. it is disclosed that he received a salary of 7500 dollars a
Conroy said the arrested plant president admitted that he favoured an Axis victory. He had fought in the German Army from 1914 to 1916 and received the Iron Cross. Until the outbreak of the war he received a pension from Germany. The arrested man visited the German Consulate in 1940 and volunteered his services, but refused service in thetUnited States forces. His wife, son land daughter were also arrested.
