LAY-READER’S JUBILEE
HONOUR TO MR. C. R. WHITE “As sub-warden of the lay readers of the Wanganui distnet, 1 am verypleased indeed that the laymen have taken it upon themselves to honour Mr. C. R. While on Lhe occasion oi his jubilee as a lay reader,” said the Re\. J. I L Dal son yesterday . “Mr. White has perlormcd a great service to the Church and it would be ungracious indeed if the occasion of his jubilee were to pass without adequate attention being paid to it,” said Mr. Datson. “I would like also to draw attention to the fact that there are several others who have given long years of service as lay readers to the Church. Some promising recruits are also enlisted in its service, and the problem of the future is how to organise this aid lo the best of advantage. This is a task which must be taken up seriously in the near future. “In the meantime .1: is a good augury that one of their number should be recognised as Mi. White is lo be on Saturday night,” concluded Mr. Datson.
