Mr. W. R. Turner was elected president of the Aramoho branch of the New Zealand Labour Party at the annual meeting held recently. The Hon. W. J. Rogers, M.L.C., has been appointed delegate from the Aramoho branch of the New Zealand Labour Party to the conference of the party in Wellington at Easter. Mr. A. Hayden, of Auckland, has been appointed president of the NewZealand Motion Picture Exhibitors' Association, and Mr. A. Ben Fuller, of Wellington, has been appointed vicepresident. Mr. R. H. Nimmo, chairman of the standing committee of the National Patriotic Council, has returned to Wellington after making a circuit of the zones of the Auckland Patriotic Council. Sergeant Gordon Fitzgerald Walden, R.N.Z.A.F., who has oeen reported killed m an aircraft accident, formerly liveo. in Wanganui, and worked in the East Town Railway Worksnojis. He carried out his air training in New Zealand, and then went, to England. He had taken part in many raids over Germany. His wife, Mrs. V. O. Walden, lives in Wanganui, and his mother in Palmerston North. Mr. T. E. Barton, Marton, has received advice trom the Minister of Defence, Hon. F. Jones, that his son, Second-uieutcnant D. G. Barton, previously reported missing, is now officially reported a prisoner of war. Second-Lieutenant Barton is a lormer Wanganui representative Rugby player. He went overseas at the enu of 1940 and took part in lhe recent Libyan campaign. Before enlisting he was on the stall of the Bank of New South Wales, Wanganui.
