BIG PLANE CRASHES
TWENTY-TWO PEOPLE KILLED DOG RESPONSIBLE FOR FINDING WRE(’KA(iE (Recd. 8.20 p.m.) London. Aug. 13. A .shepherd’s dog, coming to his master with something in its mouth which was recognised as part of a led to the discovery of a wrecked United States-bou.-.d plane, only I'vo miles from a village, lying at the foot cv a mountain ridge. Villagers hear,, the aeroplanes engines at 8.30 p.m. on Sunday. The mm Ifine must have crashed within a few seconds, although the wreckage was not discox until 24 ho’TS later. Twenty-two people—six Canadians, eight Britons, seven Americans (including the ferry pilots) and one Australian—were killed. The Air Ministry reports that the aircraft flew into a hillside shortly after taking off from Britain.—U.P.A.
