FLOWER SHOW AT MAXWELL

WOMEN’S INSTITUTE BRIGHT DISPLAY OF DAHLIAS The Maxwell Women’s Institute held a summer flower show on Tuesday of last week. The hall looked beautiful. One side was given up to a display of dahlias and further along a splendid display of bottled fruit, jams, jellies, pickles and sauces. In one corner was a large exhibit of vegetables, the collections in baskets lending added interest. The decorative section was filled to overflowing, decorated baskets being much admired. The cut flowers also were good and the C.G.C. section, although small, was very much admired. Mrs. Sheppard, Mrs. J. Laird and Mr. P. Cox were the judges. Following is the list of awards:—
