DUCHESS THEATRE

Across a vast panorama of primitive splendour, several thousand feet above sea level, under a burning sun, a solitary stage coach careens and rocks behind six galloping horses. Every mile brings the coach and its odd assortment of passengers closer to a waiting band of murderous Apaches, led by Geromino, fiercest of them all. This is the tense and thrilling background of Walter Wanger’s “Stage Coach,” screening to-night at the Duchess Theatre. Claire Trevor and John Wayne appear in the starring roles. Others in the cast include Andy Devine as the stage coach driver, Louise Pratt, Donald Meek and Tim Holt. Also screening with other splendid supports is a “March of Time” episode.
