YOUNG BIRD SEASON OPENS The Wanganui Pigeon Club held a flock race from Levin on Saturday, an airline of 49.32 miles, 42 birds competing. F. McPherson took first place in the seniors, and D. Fyfe first in the juniors. The results are as follow:- F. McPherson, 949 yards per minute, 1; A. Jenkins. 936, 2; E. J. Douglas, 936. 3; R. Jeffries, 837, 4: F. McPherson, 945, 5; A. Jenkins. 938, 6. Junior Section. —D. Fyfe, 962, 1; B. Gilmore, 949, 2; R. Massey, 940, 3; W. Hawke, 939, 4; L. Head, 936, 5; R. Bowie, 931, 6. The club hampers for Taumarunui to-morrow (Thursday) night, and Levin interval on Friday night.
