A number of friends attended a dinner at Castle Motel, Richmond, in i .he evening. i Mr. Brown is an old boy of Wanga- | nui Collegiate School. At Victoria I College he wen the senior scholarship in economics and graduated M.a. 1 After being awarded a post-graduate scholarship in arts, he spent two year, a Clare College, Cambridge, where he -ook the degree of M.Sc. In London he has been attached to the Intelligence Department of the Midland Bank, and is now statistician to a firm of consulting engineers. Miss Gilihespy was head of Harrogate College, Derby. At Girton Col.ege, Cambridge, she read lor the History Tripos and represented the Uni.crsity at swimming, squash, lacrosse, nd cricket. After taking a Diploma < Social Science at the London school f Economics she was appointed As- • istant Welfare Superintendent at a large London factory. Mr. and Mrs. Brown first met on a skiing holiday : m Austria, on the week-end that it 1 was invaded by Hitlei.
