THE WAIMARINO BRANCH ANNUAL MEETING HELD RAETIHI, April 23. i At the annual meeting of the Waimarino branch of the Farmers’ Union held in the Druids’ Hall, Raetihi, on Saturday, Mr. H. E. Frederick presided over an attendance of about 30. The annual report, read by the secretary, Mr. W. Jack, showed 78 financial and 16 unfinancial memoers at the close of the year. Alter paying off accrued liabilities there was a credit balance of £1 3s 9d. Officers Elected. The following were elected officers for the ensuing year, a oallot being necessary for the position of vicechairmen, there being six nominations: —Chairman, Mr. 11. E. Frederick; vice-chairmen, Messrs. A. S. Ashmore and D. F. Scarrow; committee, Messrs. T. E. McLean, R. McLean, H. D. Godfrey, F. W. Satherley, H. VV. Littlewood, C. D. Lynch, D. J. Berry and N. McFarlane, A. Barrow, H. Gripp, A. P. O’Neill, V. Houghton, L. A. Meyer and H. P. Manson; secretary, Mr. William Jack; delegates to Provincial Executive, Messrs. Frederick, Ashmore and Scarrow; secretary, Mr. Wiliam Jack; delegates to Provincial Executive, Messrs. Frederick, Ashmore and Scarrow. General. Mr. T. Currie, provincial president, gave an address on topics of interest to members. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mr. Frederick for his work as chairman during the year. The Waimarino County Council was thanked for its prompt action with regard to opening roaas after damaged by floods, and a round of applause was accorded Mr. A. Barrow for allowing the public the use of his land when held up by floods. The Raetihi W.D.F. Union provided supper.
