Aston.TAIHAPE BOWLING CLUB The official closing of the Taihape Bowling Club’s green for the season will take place on April 28, when the trophies will be presented. Afternoon tea will be provided and members are asked to assist in this connection by bringing a basket of eatables. The club championships have been finalised and congratulations are due to H. A. Holmes on winning the singles championship. His was a very line effort, especially as the competition was very keen and Holmes was up against some good players. Wr. R. Fleming was runner-up. Detailed results o£ the winners oi the principal events are as follow: - Championship singles: H. A. Holmes; runner-up, W. R. Fleming. Junior singles championship: A. Caulcutt: runner-up, F. H. McGuire. Full rink championship: J. D. C. Davis, G. R Symons, H. rJ. Stevens, T. A. Prescott; runners-up, A. M. Ryan, H. D. Bond. J. Bridson, V. Nicholls. The handicap singles and pairs have not yet been finalised and members concerned are requested to play their matches at once. ANZAC DAY The Anzac Day service will be held in the Town Hall at 2.30 p.m. The usual parade of returned soldiers, Territorials, Guides, Scouts, ana other units will commence at 2.15 p.m. from the school, headed by the Taihape Band.
