TROTTING

PROVINCIAL CIRCUIT MEETING AT CAMBRIDGE PROSPECTS FOR TO-DAY (Special to “Chronicle.") AUCKLAND, April 12. The Auckland provincial trotting circuit will be advanced a further stage to-morrow when the Cambridge Club will hold its winter fixture. The fields are very useful but the Hautapu and Bruntwood Handicaps are reduced by the withdrawal of the southern pacer Toceetie, who has gone home, and the promising Hamilton improver Alcazar. On the strength of her good winning form, Revision is the main fancy for the Cambridge Handicap, and especially as she has been left in before the Thames Cup winner Belfast Jack, who, however, will be well placed next week-end at Claudelands. The President’s Handicap field is large and open, but after his forward running at Thames John’s Cast, although giving away 12 yards to start, will keep the rest busy. The field for the trotters' race is not strong and if J. T. Paul has improved the Long-burn-owned Air Pilot he will take beating. Paul had Mah Jong and Worthy Return also in the handicap but only accepted with Air Pilot. Betting will be on the win-and-place system. With only seven races the first event will not start before 12.45 p.m. Brackets to-morrow are:—Cambridge Handicap, Levity and Television. Bardowie Handicap, Del Potts and Cloverdale.
