PROGRESS OF PLAY NEARLY ALL FINALS HAVE BEEN REACHED YESTERDAY’S RESULTS Nearly all the finals were reached yesterday in the St. John’s Tennis Club’s Easter tourney. Some fine tennis was seen, particularly in the men’s singles final, which was won by R. Dennis after losing the first set 6-0. Foster and Foote retained their title, beating Connett and Cook in the finai of the men’s doubles. Connett and Cook, smashing brilliantly, took the first set 6-1, but the holders’ combination was better and, although having match point against them in the second set, Foster add Foote took this at 7-5 and the final set 6-1. The women’s championship singles and championship doubles will be played to-day. Results:— Men’s Championship Singles Dennis beat Kearney, 6-1, 6-4; .
