MR. W. M. COLE TO RETIRE
AFTER 40 YEARS' SERVICE DISTRICT TRAFFIC MANAGER Mr. W. M. Cole, district traffic ma: ager at Wanganui for the Raiiwa Department, will retire on supeia nuation after 4U years’ service in ti near future. Mr. Cole joined the Railways Auckland as a cadet in 189 a. 1924 he was appointed assistant trail inspector at Frankton junction, ai in 1925 was transferred to the Uislri traffic managers office at Ohakui where he became transport officer 1927. Mr. Cole was the chief clerk in C divisional superin I endent's oil ice Auckland from 1928 to 1931, aft which he served for a short teim ; acting-stationmaster in Auckland. . 1932, he became assistant trailic ma: ager in Auckland.
