ROTARY CLUB LUNCHEON
WIVES AND DAUGHTERS ENTERTAINED i There was a good attendance al the I Wanganui Rotary Club luncheon yesterday, when the guests of honour were wives daughters of members. “Wanderings Through Holland" was the subject of an address by Miss N. Sampson. Aspects of Dutch life was its cleanliness and slow tempo, seemingly reflected in the manner in which barges drifted slowly along the canals, she said. “In Holland water is regarded as a servant of the Dutch, continued Miss Sampson. “It is so much I part of their daily life that sometimes lit is a terror to them. Windmills, ! however, are more of a relic. Steam ! pumps are now used instead." A bracket of songs was sung by Miss I j Julie Werry, New Zealand singer and I daughter of Rotarian J. S. Werry. I i A model suit of black cire satin 1 figured in white, a smart black velvet toque, a white satin blouse and Venetian red sash was worn by Miss Werry. Miss N. Gamman played the accompaniments.
