TENNIS CLUB j The -annual meeting of the local I tennis club was held recently, there | being a good attendance' of players land intending players. The officers elected for the ensuing year are: : Patron, Mr. D. T. Couper; president, Mr. D. Jones; vice-presidents, Mr. J. I Watt, Mr. R. Deroles, Mr. H. G. FankIhauser and Mr. F. Heise; hon. secretary, Mr. A. Pettigrew, re-elected; club captain, Mr. L. Meiklejohn; vicecaptain, Mr. N. Amadio; committee, ladies: Miss G. Moess, Miss A. Carey, Mesdamcs D. Jones and F. Heise; men: Messrs. D. Jones, L. Meiklejohn,
N. Amadio, N. Saywell and A. Pettigrew. It was decided Io hold the official opening day on Saturday. October 21. All outside clubs are cordially invited and piay will commence at 1 p.msharp. A dance will be held on Monday, October 23 (Labour night!, the local orchestra supplying (he music, and everyone is assured of a first-class evening's entertainment. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chair.
