DRAW FOR MEDAL ROUND (Own Correspondent!. TAIHAPE, May 15. The following is the draw lor the extra medal round to be played on Thursday, May 18: —Mis. Murrell and Mrs. Quinn; Mrs. Hosking and Mis. Ongley; Miss N. Bradley and Miss Fookes; Miss Bowler and scorer; Mrs. James and Mrs. Bond; Miss Keegan and Mrs. McWilliam; Miss Dewhurst and Miss Maclean; Mrs. Kay and Mrs. Somerville; Miss C. Bradley and scorer; Mrs. Graham and Mrs. Wylie; Miss Helsby and Mrs. Scott; Miss D. Fitzherbert and Mrs. Percy; Miss Bary and Miss Bond; Mrs. Mellsop and Miss B. Fitzherbert; Miss Abbot and Miss Nicholls (Saturday). The best cards for last week's f organ Cup and junior bogey round, were: —Senior: Mrs. Hosking, 2 up; Mrs. Quinn, 1 down. Junior: Mrs. Somerville, 3 down; Mrs- Bond, 5 down. Reductions in handicaps: Mrs. Hosking to 7; Mrs. Quinn to 11. YOUNG FARMERS’ DEBATE TAIHAP EDEFEATS BULLS The second and final round ot the Wanganui District inter-club debating contest was held in Hunterville on the evening of May 12, when the Taihape team, consisting of Messrs. P. Bird, J. Gilbert and S. Smith, defeated the Bulls team by 321 points to 253. The judge, Mr. R. M. S. Jones, complimented the speakers on their eloquence and deportment. Mr. Jones was accorded a hearty vote of thanks at the conclusion of the debate. The Taihape team is now the Wanganui district representative team, and will meet the Manawatu district representative team in a debate at FlockHouse on May 26.
