OPUNAKE WEDDING
PAULING—BOSWORTH. A quiet wedding was solemnised at . the Anglican Church. Opunake, last Thursday, when Elizabeth Mabel (Betty)/ youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Bosworth, Oaonui, was married to Leslie Gibson, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Pauling, | Patea. Mrs. Hawkins, Oaonui, presided at the organ. Escorted by her father, the bride was wearing a gown of gold satin beaute made on slim fitting lines. The skirt was finished with a deep frill edged with velvet ribbon, as were the puff sleeves. The veil of embroidered parchment tulle was held in place with a halo of golden flow- ' ers. The bouquet carried was of I cream and yellow water lillies with trailers of golden ribbon. I Mrs. Barrett, sister of the bride, I was matron of honour, and she wore a gown of Air Force blue satin taffeta. The skirt was finished with an accordion pleated frill, draped with velvet ribbon, with matching puff sleeves. The bodice was buttoned from neck to waist at the back. She wore a lemon crinoline bonnet trimmed with gold and blue flowers and tied under the chin with black velvet ribbon. Gold shoes and mittens, and a boquet of lemon and gold flowers completed the ensemble.
Little Beverley Pauling, sister of the bridegroom, wore a slipper length frock of lemon satin, with an overdress of lemon silk net made bolero style. Pink roses and blue forget-me-nots trimmed the 80-peep hat which was tied on with pink ribbons. A posy of pink and blue flowers was carried. On leaving the church, Beverley presented the bride with a lucky white satin horseshoe. The best man was Mr. Stewart Pauling, Wellington, brother of the bridegroom. The reception was held at the residence of the bride’s parents, Mrs. Bosworth wearing a navy silk bolero frock, navy accessories and a shoulder spray of deep pink carnations. Mrs. Pauling wore a brown costume with matching accessories, a fur stole and carried a posy of autumn tinted flowers. The bridegroom’s grandmother wore a black ensemble with touches of white and a shoulder spray of helio coloured flowers. When Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Pauling left by car for the Wellington district. the bride was wearing an ensemble of London tan with hat and accessories to tone.
