OHINGAITI SCHOOL PICNIC
DAY AT CASTLECLIFF (Own Correspondent). OHINGAITI, March 3. The desire of the Ohingaiti School Committee to give the children a day at the sea was realised on Saturday (February 25), when approximately 50 children and many adults journey, ed to Castlecliff beach for the school's annual picnic. Many parents took the opportunity to show their children over a large German steamer berthed at the wharf, this being interesting as well as educational to them. An enjoyable lunch and afternoon tea was partaken of by all ana each child received a bag of sweets. Thanks are due to all car owners who made the outing possible, namely: Miss M. Hammond, and Messrs. L. E. Weston, R. Don, W. Potaka, F. Barnett, J. Hammond, A. Chisholm, J. B. McKnight, F. Mclntyre, W. E. Peacock, J. Wright and R. McCullough. Special thanks are due to those who, having no children attending school and really having no direct interest in school affairs, made their tars available for the children's sake.
