HIGHEST NUMBER OF SUICIDES
NEW YORK HOLIDAY PERIOD TWENTY-FOUR IN THREE DAYS NEW YORK, Jan. 3. The police announced that there were 24 suicides during the holidays, the highest total ever recorded in a three-day period in the history of New York There were five suicides on Saturday, 14 on Sunday, and five on Monday. Several suicide attempts failed. This makes the national total of accidental deaths more than 300.
