PERSONAL Miss M. Russell, late of Ohingaiti. and now residing in Wellington, is spending a short holiday with Mrs N. Miller. The friends of Mr D. Lindsay will be sorry to learn that he had the misfortune to break his leg as a result or a fall. The sufferer is an inmate of the Hunterville private hospital. GENERAL Mr A. R. Robbie (schools agriculture instructor) paid a short visit to the school last Monday. Prizes and certificates won by the children in th? schools’ clubs competitions were distributed as follow; —Calf Club: Janet Perry, first certificate and prize; Lena Perry, second certificate and prize. Plots (agricultural): Patricia Mercer, first prize; Rita Double and Stanley McCullough, second prize each. FOOTBALL PRACTICE With the ultimate aim of once more forming a junior Rugby football team about 20 young men of the township and district gathered on the football giound. A very good practice was held and much promising talent was noticed in many of the players. It is to be hoped that enthusiasm continues and that the game will, once again, give enjoyment to the Ohingaiti players. hon. secretary, Mr H. Haycock; captain, Miss Minnie Kearney; vice-cap-tain, Mrs Jeffries. GENERAL NEWS It Is reported that ducks were veryplentiful on Whiskers’ Dam on opening day, no less than 72 being secured. This is easily the best “bag” in Rangitikei.
